Breaking Down Emotion, Music, and Manifestation

Have you ever said or heard someone say, “She has a nice vibe!” or “The vibe in this room is crazy”? As a matter of fact, we are quite literally vibrating. Our body is a molecular structure, composed of atoms vibrating at high speed controlled by energy. We could think of this more than just a law of the universe; it is a crucial factor to defining what and how we project ourselves. To put in simple terms, these vibrations are dictated by our own thoughts, which then control the way we act.

For example, say you are thinking about ‘X’, where ‘X’ can be any type of thought. Imputing this thought into your mind initiates an ‘X’ type vibration of the molecules, and produces an ‘X’ type result whether that be an emotion or act. Not only do the vibration of atoms have the potential to define our own behaviour, it can also attract certain things, people, and even music.

How do we attract something intangible like music? We simply match up with the vibrations of music that are in sync to our own. In other words, what we think, can determine the type of music that attracts us. When our body produces a vibration frequency ‘X’, music with the same vibration ‘X’ will feel most comforting to us at that particular time. The chart below presents the vibration frequency for each type of emotion. Grief, apathy, guilt, and shame, trigger molecules to vibrate slower, compared to emotions such as enlightenment, peace, joy, and love. This explains why when we feel sad, we reach for our ‘Sad Vibes’ playlist and play Fix You by Coldplay instead of Celebration by Kool & The Gang.

The question then arises: how can we manipulate our thinking and use it to our advantage? Understanding that similar vibration frequencies attract, we can use this logic and apply it to the process of manifestation. In order to fully understand this, it is vital to remind ourselves our body is a mass of energy, and so are many other things around us: people, objects, places and more. Therefore, it is possible for the vibration frequency we project to link up with similar vibrations from the matter that surrounds us. A high/positive vibration frequency leads to positive outcomes, inversely, a low/negative vibration frequency leads to negative outcomes. Applying that to reality, why you score poorly on tests, why your crush doesn’t like you back, can be answered by asking yourself, do you truly believe in success? A large scale experiment was conducted in Washington D.C. in 1993, where “More than 4,000 practitioners of transcendental meditation, including more than 12 Long Islanders, went to Washington on a six-week mission to slash the crime rate in neighborhoods like the one in Washington.” (NY Times) Participants were asked to meditate two times a day, each session lasting two and a half to four hours. “‘Preliminary statistics’ from the group say violent crime dropped 23.6 percent in the first four weeks.” (NY Times). The experiment proved the potential our mind and consciousness holds.

By simply changing our mindset, we are choosing certain things to come our way. This psychological renovation will take time and effort, but in the meantime, start by reminding yourself, that your brain can call for more than what your mouth can. So the next time you open your music app, pay attention to what kind of music you are attracted to, and when you start to give up on yourself, remind yourself “I can do this, and I will get those results”
