How do you plan to make NIS a better community?

This year one of our goals is to create better communication platform between the students and the school, so that every voice can be heard and every opinion can be addressed. We are looking to adopt a few very interesting and new event ideas that will bond students as homerooms and grades. I think this is very beneficial especially amidst the global pandemic.

How do you plan to make NIS a better community?

Taking advantage of my long experience with the school, I will reflect back on events that I have participated in over the years to organize new and improved events for the high school community. I look forward to pushing through challenges, including our biggest challenge at the moment with COVID-19, by carefully planning activities that are safe and appropriate. Along with the rest of the council, I will consider every individual's desire in shaping an entertaining school year.

Saadia A. - Secretary

As the secretary for the HSSC, I am responsible for keeping a record of the council's discussions, sending out reminders for future meetings, handling any emails concerning the council, and taking attendance of the council members. Moreover, being a council member, I put forth my ideas and opinions regarding the council's initiatives for raising the school spirit and advocating for student voices.

Past experiences

I have several past leadership experiences that qualify me for my current secretary role. I have had the experience of being the class representative four times and I was also part of the student council at my previous school under the role of "STEM Leader." I have also had the experience of being the environmental leader three times at my former school. Moreover, taking over minor leadership roles throughout my school years has also been beneficial for me in developing my leadership skills.

How do you plan to make NIS a better community?

Collectively, the HSSC aspires to take actions that advocate for student voices and raises the school’s spirit. The council has several plans in improving NIS and serving the NIS community to make our school a positive experience for everyone. I want to represent my commitment and dedication to the council and our community by being actively involved in the execution of these plans.
