Model United Nations

During spring break THAIMUN a conference was held online for THAIMUN. THAIMUN stands for Thailand International Model United Nations, and in honor of that, this article was written about the MUN in NIS.

What we did in NISMUN

On January 14th, the Model United Nations club had its very own conference. Prior to the conference, everyone chose a country to represent and we split into blocks according to the countries we had. The day was split into two topics where we debated over the question of the “Impact of technology on quality and quantity of jobs' ' and “Cyber-surveillance on citizens”. After separating into groups, we constructed four draft resolutions in total. The entire day was allocated for our debates and delegates was required to dress up formally. Each delegate came prepared with 30-second opening speeches for each topic. Unfortunately, due to time constraints, we were only able to do two of the draft resolutions but we were still able to make the most out of our time. It was a first-time experience for the majority of the participants but with the help of the experienced people, the conference ended successfully. The conference was an educational experience for most and motivated us to enhance our speaking and thinking skills.
