On September 24th, Cli-mates and GIN, two of the school's clubs that promote environmental awareness, organized a strike for climate change. The clubs collaborated for Fridays for Future’s global movement, organizing a socially-distant strike at 3:00pm, where any students wanting to join the movement could grab a placard and demonstrate their commitment to change for the better. Club leaders read out a speech about the sort of problems that should be acknowledged and of change they’d like to see within our own community and as well as on the global scale. Afterwards, the clubs led chants to unify the group. The strikers were then dismissed in a socially distanced manner back into their classes. Club leaders hope the event will encourage more people to join the club and participate in future events.
